Human Bodies Thriving

Welcome!  This site represents the multi-faceted enterprise of Laura Gilliam—teacher, bodyworker and human thoroughly dedicated to her own embellishment.

Laura works as a teacher of the Course in Embodiment a fourteen class series aimed at developing the three dimensional, stable, pain free body we all require to live most fully.  Developing the most efficient body alignment through applied knowledge and self care will increase your vitality in all dimensions.  If you experience pain with exercise or don’t experience optimum performance when you move, the Course in Embodiment will give you the knowledge you need to move with ease and confidence.

Laura has developed a system of human structural remodeling called Big Change Bodywork.  Laura is a highly trained therapist with finely tuned palpation skills.  Her approach is both systematic and intuitive.  She uses techniques developed over 15 years of practice to make big changes in her clients’ physical performance.  This is serious bodywork for those without ambivalence about positive change.

Warrior: “a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness”.
Fabulous:  “exceptionally good or unusual; marvelous; superb

Laura writes, blogs and speaks as a Warrior Fabulous. Warrior Fabulous Blog Laura is committed to living with her utmost energy and vigor in the pursuit of Fabulous and supporting others to do the same through instruction, bodywork and inspiration.  What this means is a broad practice of enlightened self interest.  Care for the self - the body, the intellect, the heart and the spirit - is a gift to all the others in one's life.  Integration of all aspects of the self into a balanced and joyous whole is an honor to the world.  At this place in history, to deeply care for oneself requires the discipline and resolve of a warrior.

Laura is a Certified Integrative Neurosomatic Therapist, the first CINT in Washington State.  Integrative Neurosomatic Therapy fills a void left by traditional health care by analyzing soft tissue causes of pain.  According to recent research approximately 90% of pain symptoms are considered idiopathic, which means there is no known cause.  We believe the reason there is no known cause is that a proper investigation into the patient's soft tissues is not being performed.  Integrative Neurosomatic Therapy is a way to analyze and thoroughly explore the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in order to find these hidden sources of pain.  More information can be found at http://www.neurosomaticeducators.com
